The Power of Letting Go: Simplify for Greater Focus

The Power of Letting Go: Simplify for Greater Focus

Since arriving in the military, I’ve experienced something I’ve never had before—acne.
It feels like my face is slowly revealing parts of itself that I hadn’t noticed before, a bit rougher, a bit more worn.

Every day, I sweat, and without the luxury of a proper skincare routine, I’ve been trying to restore my skin after long hours of work.
But no matter how many creams I applied or how often I used face masks, my skin only seemed to worsen.

I bought products from YouTube recommendations and popular items from Olive Young, pouring them generously onto my face.
Before bed, my skin was so coated that it shined, unable to absorb everything.
I thought, "If I use all the best products, my skin will get better."

But no matter how much time passed, my skin didn’t improve.
In fact, the acne multiplied, and my skin’s condition deteriorated.

It wasn’t until later that I learned the truth:
When your skin is struggling, piling on more products isn’t the solution.
I learned that excessive use only irritates the skin more.
Eventually, I realized that healing can happen with just the bare minimum: a simple skin medication and a moisturizing cream.

I had been chasing “more” without realizing that it was “more” that was causing my pain.
So, I cleared out the masks and unnecessary products, leaving only acne medicine and hydrating cream.

And after a month, to my surprise, my skin started to improve.
The change came when I started letting go.

Perhaps, life works in much the same way.

When chaos enters our lives, we search for more solutions.
When things get overwhelming and complicated, we respond by becoming busier, trying to grab hold of everything we can.
But sometimes, the real solution lies in letting go of it all.

By eliminating the illusion of "busyness" and cutting out the noise,
we create space to find our inner peace.

In a life that constantly calls for “more,” we often find that the key is “less.”
Life is a constant cycle of letting go.
